Q: If there is a resurgence of interest in Marshall McLuhan, what would you attribute it to? A: A vacuum in thinking, at the moment generally. I suppose people are trying to come to terms with the increasing banality of what’s on television and the surfeit of information. And so we’re all struggling, I think to try and achieve some intellectual understanding of the stupefying of our lives or the information that we’re getting in our lives—and there’s Marshall McLuhan to explain it all.
